![]() ![]() In 2019, MEIL acquired Italy-based Drillmec, a specialist in oil and gas drilling and the firm currently has manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. MEIL is the first private firm in the country to make and use the oil and gas extraction rigs with Indigenous Technology. The rigs are being manufactured under the prestigious ‘Make in India’ and “AtmaNirbhar Bharat” Policies. This 1500 HP land drilling rig can easily drill oil wells to the depths of 4000 metres (4 kilo metres) from the surface level. The first rig which is operational and equipped with advanced hydraulic technology has completed drilling of one oil well, at Kalol oil field, Dhamasana Village in Gujarat. Out of 47 Rigs meant for ONGC 20 are Work over Rigs and 27 are Land Drilling Rigs. In the second division is construct the Zojila tunnel of 14.15 km in to two lane highway in Horse shoe shape.Īn advanced technology with New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) is being used in this work and it is the first of its kind in the country.Ī history has been created by manufacturing Rigs indigenously and supplying them to India’s public sector oil and gas major ONGC.
